  • Marketing Desktop Publisher
    Altegris Investments is a growing alternative-investment firm headquartered a block from the ocean in beautiful La Jolla, California – a suburb of San Diego. The Altegris team of over 65 professionals is dedicated to providing industry-leading funds and managed futures products to our deep list of professional and qualified investor clients and prospects. Our current clients have over $2.5 billion in trading level allocated to investments on our platform.

    We are looking for a highly talented desktop publisher who can be a pivotal member of our dynamic and focused marketing team. S/he will responsible for creating and producing marketing materials for sales support, direct response, lead generation, and customer-retention programs. Key functions involve performing and managing production activities for monthly and ad hoc marketing projects delivered via web, email, and direct mail.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist in the production of print and electronic marketing material.
    • Create, maintain, and inventory our library of marketing materials.
    • Coordinate with marketing project managers to ensure completion of marketing campaigns.
    • Either design or work with external designers to create and maintain corporate and marketing design templates.
    • Ensure work is consistent with company branding and industry best practices. Work closely with compliance department to ensure data and content integrity.
    • Bring cutting-edge, innovative thinking to our production systems to increase their efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Act as the interface with Information Systems regarding websites, email systems, and content management/publishing systems.
    • Build charts & graphs derived from data from a number of different internal (proprietary) databases and popular external databases and market data sources such as Bloomberg

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Mastery of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
    • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.). Experience with Flash is a plus.
    • Expert knowledge in web standards (HTML and CSS).
    • Strong quantitative skills and data analysis
    • Aggressive self-starter who works well in a team environment.
    • Knowledge of financial services industry. Alternative investments experience a plus.
    • Strong planning and project management skills, and the ability to handle multiple high-level projects.
    • Detail oriented with superior project execution and organization skills.
    • Ability to build effective relationships throughout the organization and with external partners.
    • Ideal candidate would have between 2-3 years experience in relevant production, graphic arts or marketing production discipline.

  • Senior Product Marketing Analyst

    Summary of Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include independently initiating, leading, developing, managing, and promoting a family of premier alternative investments. Core competencies include data management and analysis, content management, interpretation of data into PowerPoint sales presentations, and pitch books, creation of fact sheets, capability brochures, webinars, etc. Mature professional who is a self-starter. This position offers unlimited upside management potential in a rapidly expanding entrepreneurial firm.

    Description

    • Utilize strong quantitative and analytical skill sets, process and manipulate data derived from a number of different internal (proprietary) databases and popular external databases and market data sources such as Bloomberg
    • Build charts & graphs that tell the story behind the product strategy, and/or asset class
    • Understand the marketing needs of the third-party and/or high-net worth channel, and translate this knowledge into tactical sales tools and marketing programs including events, commentary, webinar, presentations
    • Craft and articulate product positioning and core messages to support distribution, with solid copywriting skills
    • Create compelling sales ideas, collateral materials and commentary that can directly impact sales
    • Monitor asset flows, product performance and industry trends to support marketing promotions
    • Owner of projects from inception through implementation
    • Work with technology to streamline processes of data flows from internal databases

    Product Marketing/Analyst Responsibilities

    • Define competitive market requirements and opportunities; develop new products and provide ongoing support to ensure the competitiveness of existing assigned investment products
    • Independently complete complex research projects and whitepapers
    • Coordinate marketing, sales, legal/compliance, operations and technology staff to effectively support and promote assigned products
    • Work closely with research and sales staff in implementing new marketing approaches for complex alternative investment products
    • Provide guidance and support to junior staff, (may have formal supervisory responsibility)
    • Prepare written and electronic marketing materials to promote firm’s specialized capabilities
    • Assist with data gathering, data analysis, and preparation of response materials


    Qualifications

    • Ideal candidate would have between 5-7 years of Financial Services Industry experience with demonstrated expertise in marketing of alternative product offerings
    • Strong quantitative skills and data analysis
    • Strong project management skills
    • Strong creative ability
    • Utilize out-of-the-box thought process to continuously improve reporting content and visual appearance
    • Ability to adapt to an ever changing, organic environment, pragmatic and strategic at the same time
    • Knowledge of alternative investments preferred, must have financial services asset management experience
    • Knowledge of mutual funds a plus
    • Self-starter, organized, strong project management skills
    • Some supervisory responsibilities
    • Strong team player, able to build collaborative relationships with Sales, Research, Compliance and other key departments
    • Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure
    • Strong written, verbal, communication and computer skills
    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Finance or related field with a Master’s Degree or CFA Certification preferred
    • Thorough knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications including macros and pivot tables.
    • Familiarity with market data sources and providers, industry standard data identifiers and analytical tools
