We recognize that protecting the information you provide to us is extremely important, and we take this responsibility very seriously. Please read the description below to better understand how we collect and utilize your personal information.

Altegris Investments, Inc., Altegris Capital, L.L.C. and Altegris Portfolio Management, Inc. (the Altegris Companies) are providing this notice to explain our information collection practices and other important information.

Information We Collect

We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:

Information we receive about you on applications and other forms including subscription documents, questionnaires and online registration forms. This information may include your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, social security number, income and other financial data, investment experience, etc.
Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates and others. This includes information about other products you have purchased through the Altegris Companies and others (including other affiliated companies), such as information about additions, redemptions, etc.
Information we receive about you from third parties such as referring brokers or advisers, managers, product sponsors and clearing firms, and/or their service providers. These parties may include affiliates of the Altegris Companies.

Disclosure of Your Information

We do not disclose any personal or financial information about you, whether you are our current or former client, without your authorization or direction, except as disclosed below.

We may share information about you with affiliated or nonaffiliated third parties, in order for them to assist us in providing services to you, and otherwise as permitted by law. However, affiliated and nonaffiliated third parties who receive information about you in order to assist us in providing services to you are restricted from using your information for any other purpose.

If there is a change to our Privacy Policy, the new policy will be posted on our website, www.altegris.com, and attached to any notice of such change, with a visible effective date.

Confidentiality and Security

We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees and third parties who need to know that information to assist us in providing services to you. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.

Who will see my information?

We do not sell or distribute your information to third-party marketers. Only authorized employees of Altegris Investments and certain service providers (such as our accountants and lawyers) will have access to your personal information.

Security Technology

Your security is important to us. We use 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology to protect your information. This is the current industry standard for secure Internet transactions.

Alternative investment products, including hedge funds and managed futures, involve a high degree of risk, often engage in leveraging and other speculative investment practices that may increase the risk of investment loss, can be highly illiquid, are not required to provide periodic pricing or valuation information to investors, may involve complex tax structures and delays in distributing important tax information, are not subject to the same regulatory requirements as mutual funds, often charge high fees which may offset any trading profits, and in many cases the underlying investments are not transparent and are known only to the investment manager. Alternative investment performance can be volatile. An investor could lose all or a substantial amount of his or her investment. Often, alternative investment fund and account managers have total trading authority over their funds or accounts; the use of a single advisor applying generally similar trading programs could mean lack of diversification and, consequently, higher risk. There is often no secondary market for an investor's interest in alternative investments, and none is expected to develop. There may be restrictions on transferring interests in any alternative investment. Alternative investment products often execute a substantial portion of their trades on non-U.S. exchanges. Investing in foreign markets may entail risks that differ from those associated with investments in U.S. markets. Altegris, a FINRA and NFA member, offers various alternative investments, including hedge funds, futures funds and managed futures and commodities accounts, that may operate in commodities markets and foreign markets, among others. Altegris and/or its officers/partners may have a financial interest in such alternative investments. In working with clients, Altegris acts in its capacity as an SEC-registered Broker-Dealer and/or as a CFTC-registered Introducing Broker and CTA. Although Altegris may give securities-related advice that is incidental to its securities brokerage services, it is not an Investment Adviser. When acting as an Introducing Broker for individually managed accounts, Altegris receives a portion of the commodity brokerage commissions you pay in connection with your futures trading and/or a portion of the interest income (if any) earned on an account's assets. CTAs may also pay Altegris a portion of the fees they receive from accounts introduced to them by Altegris. When acting as a Broker-Dealer, Altegris enters into selling agreements with hedge funds and futures funds that it offers (including funds sponsored by affiliates), pursuant to which Altegris, with respect to the interests it sells, is paid a portion of the management and/or performance fees charged by the funds or their managers in respect of those interests. Altegris may also provide ongoing managed futures consulting services to its clients for a monthly service charge pursuant to individual managed account consulting arrangements.
